Just a week ago now, we announced our very first 2016 Prom Princess for our 2016 Prom Queen Contest, Alyssa Torres. Another week has gone by, and we recently announced our second 2016 Prom Princess this past Friday, May 27th. We're excited to announce that our second 2016 Prom Princess is Kate Lannon!

We loved Kate's elegant prom style. The neutral colors that Kate and her date chose let the sparkly top of her dress, her chandelier earrings, and the pretty bouquet and boutonniere take the spotlights. A stunning matching couple!

Kate's dress was created by dress designer Mori Lee. It's a dress that has since been discontinued.

Kate's mom shared Kate's prom pictures and a nice message with us back in April, but when Kate entered our Prom Queen Contest, she had a message of her own to share:

"Huge Rissy Roo's fan...It was love at first sight. I had a fairytale night in my gorgeous princess dress. The staff was fantastic and knew just what I was looking for. Can't wait to go back for Homecoming and Senior Prom! LOVE LOVE LOVE Rissy Roo's. I love being a Roogirl."

As a Prom Princess, Kate won a $50 gift certificate to RissyRoos.com, and she'll also get to compete in June for the the final stage of our contest: to be crowned our 2016 Prom Queen! Keep a look-out to see who our final Prom Princesses are (there are still three spots left!), and you'll be able to start voting on the Prom Queen on June 17th on our Facebook page. Our 2016 Rissy Roo's Prom Queen Contest is in full swing, and this past Friday (May 20th), we chose our very first weekly winner, better known as a Prom Princess. We're happy and excited to announce that our first Prom Princess is the beautiful Alyssa Torres!

Alyssa won a $50 gift certificate to RissyRoos.com, and will also be in the running in June to become our 2016 Rissy Roo's Prom Queen to win the grand prize of a $100 gift certificate.

We chose Alyssa because we loved how she rocked the color red throughout her entire prom look, from the prom dress, to her lipstick, to the pretty bouquet. It's a bold color, and she wore it with such style. The pretty red prom dress that Alyssa chose is Mac Duggal 65435A. It's a striking two piece prom dress with a top that features a sweetheart neckline and illusion netting that clasps together in the back.

Customers can submit their testimonial up until 11:59pm on June 16, 2016. One winner ("princess") will be chosen each week every Friday up until June 17, 2016. Weekly princess winners will be announced on: May 20 2016, May 27 2016, June 3 2016, June 10 2016, and June 17 2016. Five weekly princess winners will be announced in total. Each weekly princess winner will win a $50 gift certificate to RissyRoos.com.

The five princesses will be added to a Facebook photo album, so that contestants, family, and friends can vote on their favorite princess through "liking" or "loving" their favorite picture. The five weekly princess winners will have a chance to compete on Facebook to be crowned the 2016 RissyRoos.com Prom Queen from June 17, 2016 - June 27, 2016.

Congratulations to Sarah F., winner of our 2015 Homecoming Pinterest Contest!

To help make sure all of our Roo Girls are ready for Homecoming Season, we held a 2015 Fall into Homecoming Pinterest Contest. Since mid September, Rissy Roo's Pinterest fans showed off their favorite Rissy Roo's Homecoming 2015 dresses by creating a "Fave RissyRoos.com Homecoming Styles" Pinterest board. They pinned their favorite dresses from RissyRoos.com onto their board to show us what they're obsessing over for their back to school dance. Entrants had to pin at least 20 items from RissyRoos.com, tag the pins with #RissyRoosHomecoming and build up their follower base.

Girls were not only judged on following pinning and board creation directions, but also on building up the pins and followers of their board and showing us just how excited they are for Homecoming through their pins. The girls put their pinning skills to work, pinning beautiful dresses, shoes, and accessories all from our website. While we loved all of the boards, we could only pick one winner. Sarah's Pinterest board stood out from the rest because we could really tell how dedicated she was to showing off her pinning skills. She pinned 31 Rissy Roo's images in total, and gained 217 followers on her board! Sarah chose Scala 48501 as her winning dress, which she'll get to wear during her Homecoming on October 24, 2015. Congrats again, Sarah! We hope you love your dress!

Another Rissy Roo's Prom 2014 Contest has come to a close, and this was an especially fun one! We are so excited to announce the winner of our Ultimate Promposal Contest...Emily!

Rissy Roo's Ultimate Promposal Contest Winner

In our Ultimate Promposal Contest, we asked all of our Roo Girls to share their 2014 promposal for a chance to win a $50 gift certificate to RissyRoos.com using hashtag #ARooPromposal. Over the course of a week, our Roo Girls showed us such fun, quirky and totally creative ideas for a promposal...from easy ideas to incredibly elaborate...and only 1 winner was chosen as the Ultimate Roo Promposal on March 28th.

That Ultimate Promposal was the so silly (and romantic!) prom proposal from George to his girlfriend Emily that you see above! We were so blown away by George's creative and so funny...and of course, very bold...idea! Congrats, Emily (and George)!

While Emily's promposal was our winner, we had so many great ideas come in that we wanted to share them all with you. Check them out below. With Prom 2014 getting closer and closer, we hope they give you some ideas for your own prom proposal!

Promposal Contest Entries

The promposal that started it all! We saw this prom proposal idea that Missy posted of her son asking his girlfriend to prom with lots and lots of balloons and immediately fell in love and decided to go on a search for the Ultimate Promposal! Of course, we gave Missy's son a $50 gift certificate to give to his date to sweeten the deal. In case you were wondering, she said yes!

This promposal from Jennifer was super sweet! Two ways to use the 'fish' idea in a promposal - "out of all the fish in the sea, will you go to prom with me?" and "You are the Swedish Fish in the Sea." Both so cute!

We even had a video promposal! Taylor sent this video in of her boyfriend, Spencer, asking her to prom in the middle of a huge audience at a basketball game. That definitely takes a lot of guts - cudos to you, Spencer!

Sarah entered this creative prom proposal that was created on her iphone with app icons! For those that don't want to do something too over the top, this is a super easy idea, while still being able to show your creativity.

More balloons with Jennifer's promposal from her boyfriend! She wrote:

Our first Prom Preview Party, held on Friday, January 31st was one super success story! Held from 6pm to 9pm in our store, there were models, giveaways, free gifts, music and all of the latest styles of dresses from the top designers to shop for!

Fun Before The Party!

The day started early for our Roo Girls, as they were pampered and dolled up for the big night by the stylists of local Salon Oh! located in Ventnor, New Jersey. The talented team applied trendy make-up and gorgeous prom curls and up-dos to our beautiful models before they put on their prom dresses!

After all the prepping, the pink carpet was rolled out for the Prom Preview 2014 Party, the prom playlist was pumped up, and the store was full of girls ready to check out the latest trends for prom 2014! With so many designers and styles to choose from, finding the perfect dress was fun and exciting! Every dress purchase included a free pair of shoes up to a $50 value, and as the girls walked throughout the store, they were given light-up sunglasses and rings, Rissy Roo's exclusive pink LED lip gloss, candy, and raffle tickets to win awesome prizes! The drawings included a bag, shoes, a $50 gift certificate and last but not least...A FREE DRESS! Our winner, Gabrielle Sear had the ultimate prom princess moment when her name was announced. She dazzled on the pink carpet as she posed with a big smile in her chosen gown, Sparkle Prom style 71301!
