  • Our Miss New Jersey 2016 is Brenna Weick

The Miss New Jersey 2016 Pageant was held this past weekend in our very own backyard, Ocean City, NJ. The pageant had the perfect backdrop on the Ocean City boardwalk in the Music Peir, and all of the contestants looked gorgeous.

Ultimately, it all came down to one girl, and it was a very special girl this year, as she is no stranger to the Miss New Jersey pageant. Brenna Weick, of Mantua, Gloucester County, is our new Miss New Jersey 2016! After finishing as the runner-up twice and the second runner-up in the last three Miss New Jersey pageants, she was finally crowned Miss New Jersey herself. You can watch the special crowning moment in the video above.  Continue reading

  • Our Fifth 2016 Prom Princess: Kailey Gober

It's finally down to only one 2016 Prom Princess spot left. It was such a hard choice - every single girl looked gorgeous in their prom dress, and we loved all of the testimonials! But, it ultimately came down to only being able to choose one more Prom Princess. So, without further adieu, we're excited to announce that our fifth and final Prom Princess is Kailey Gober!

    Sherri Hill 50333

We are obsessed with her gorgeous prom look, in Sherri Hill 50333! The black dress with pink and red accenting couldn't be more stunning, and we love that her date matched the style of the dress with his suit and boutonniere. Floral perfection!

When Kailey entered our Prom Queen Contest, she shared this message:

"I can't thank Rissy Roo's enough for finding my perfect gown! I want Sherri Hill and no one in my area carries it! I wanted something totally different from everyone's strictly beaded gowns my school wears. My mom found Rissy Roo's online and emailed the store. Marissa helped her with two dresses and emailed when the one I wanted became available. The ordering was easy, shipping was fast, and the customer service was wonderful. I can't wait to shop for next year's prom! Thank you Rissy Roo's for making my prom perfect!"

As a Prom Princess, Kailey won a $50 gift certificate to RissyRoos.com, and she'll also get to compete starting today in the final stage of our contest - to be crowned our 2016 Prom Queen! Everyone can vote for our Prom Queen on our Facebook page from 6/17 - 6/27. Just visit our "VOTE: 2016 Rissy Roo's Prom Queen Contest" Facebook Photo Album and get voting. The girl with the most "likes" and "loves" on their photo will be announced our Prom Queen on June 28, 2016 and will win a $100 gift certificate to RissyRoos.com!

Thank you so much to all who entered our contest, and good luck to our Prom Princesses as they compete to wear our 2016 Prom Queen crown!

  • Deshauna Barber is Our Miss USA 2016!

The Miss USA pageant is always fun to watch, as there are so many talented, beautiful women, all competing for the right to wear one crown. This year's competition was especially fierce, but it ultimately came down to two: Miss District of Columbia, Deshauna Barber, and Miss Hawaii, Chelsea Hardin. They were both asked difficult interview questions, and stunned all with their answers. It couldn't have been a closer call, but Miss District of Columbia, Deshauna Barber, is now reporting for duty as our new Miss USA 2016!

Yup, that's right: she is reporting for duty because she is an Army Reserve officer, and showed just how much the army means to her in her response to her interview question. The 26-year-old from the nation's capital was asked by judge Joe Zee whether the Pentagon's decision to open up all combat roles to women had, "put political correctness over our military ability to perform." The 1st Lt. responded in style, saying, "As a woman in the United States Army, I think it was an amazing job by our government to allow women to integrate into every branch of the military."  Continue reading

  • Our Third 2016 Prom Princess: Raquel Rothstein

So far our first, Alyssa Torres, and second, Kate Lannon, 2016 Prom Princesses have been announced, and on Friday, June 3rd, it was time to choose our third prom princess for our 2016 Prom Queen Contest. We're excited to announce that our third Prom Princess is Raquel Rothstein!

    Raquel Rothstein

Raquel looked so stunning in her dress, Faviana 7573, a black jersey gown with stand-out white accents. We loved how she topped her look off with red lipstick and a red bouquet. It was a perfect classic look combining colors red, white, and black, with the design of her gown giving the colors a modern twist.

When Raquel entered our Prom Queen Contest, she shared this message:

"Going into Rissy's for the first time to look for my prom dress, I was both nervous and excited. The staff made it the best experience while shopping for my dress. They were fun and excited for me. The minute I tried on this dress, I knew it was the one. This dress was perfect for me. I can't thank the staff of Rissy Roo's enough for making prom the best night of my life!"

As a Prom Princess, Raquel won a $50 gift certificate to RissyRoos.com, and she'll also get to compete starting June 17th in the final stage of our contest - to be crowned our 2016 Prom Queen! There are two Prom Princess spots left, which will be picked this coming Friday and the following Friday, so keep a look-out! You'll be able to start voting on the Prom Queen on our Facebook page starting on June 17, 2016. The Prom Queen will win a $100 gift certificate to Rissy Roo's.

  • Our Second 2016 Prom Princess: Kate Lannon

Just a week ago now, we announced our very first 2016 Prom Princess for our 2016 Prom Queen Contest, Alyssa Torres. Another week has gone by, and we recently announced our second 2016 Prom Princess this past Friday, May 27th. We're excited to announce that our second 2016 Prom Princess is Kate Lannon!

    Prom Princess

We loved Kate's elegant prom style. The neutral colors that Kate and her date chose let the sparkly top of her dress, her chandelier earrings, and the pretty bouquet and boutonniere take the spotlights. A stunning matching couple!

Kate's dress was created by dress designer Mori Lee. It's a dress that has since been discontinued.

Kate's mom shared Kate's prom pictures and a nice message with us back in April, but when Kate entered our Prom Queen Contest, she had a message of her own to share:

"Huge Rissy Roo's fan...It was love at first sight. I had a fairytale night in my gorgeous princess dress. The staff was fantastic and knew just what I was looking for. Can't wait to go back for Homecoming and Senior Prom! LOVE LOVE LOVE Rissy Roo's. I love being a Roogirl."

As a Prom Princess, Kate won a $50 gift certificate to RissyRoos.com, and she'll also get to compete in June for the the final stage of our contest: to be crowned our 2016 Prom Queen! Keep a look-out to see who our final Prom Princesses are (there are still three spots left!), and you'll be able to start voting on the Prom Queen on June 17th on our Facebook page. The Prom Queen will win a $100 gift certificate to Rissy Roo's.

If you purchased a Rissy Roo's prom dress this year and want to enter yourself, there's still time! Check out our 2016 Prom Queen Contest page for full details on the contest and how to enter.

  • Rissy Roo's 8th Grade Dance Dress Testimonial: Aliyah White

We've shown you so may of our gorgeous Roo Girls in their prom dresses, and now it's time to see one of our younger Roo Girls in her 8th grade dance dress! Ronnise White recently sent us beautiful photos of her daughter, Aliyah White, in the dress she chose for her formal 8th grade class night, and she looks so sweet!

When Ronnise sent us the photos, she said:

"We loved the dress!!!! Will definitely be back for our next occasion."

    Hannah S 27068

The dress Aliyah wore is Hannah S style 27068, a super chic formal cocktail dress. This romantic design has a box-pleated A-line lace print skirt with side pockets (yas!), jewel-covered illusion choker and deep sweetheart neckline, a beaded waistband, and an open back. It's a dress that's meant for those warm spring and summer months, and we loved that Aliyah's date rocked the same colors in his suit. The pair looked perfect together!

Not only did we love Aliyah's (and her date's) look, but we loved how Aliyah accessorized her dress. Her sparkly heels, jeweled bracelet, and purple corsage were the perfect accents to her 8th grade dance dress.

We hope you had a wonderful time at your dance, Aliyah, and we can't wait to help you find dresses for your high school dances in the future!

  • Our First 2016 Prom Princess: Alyssa Torres

Our 2016 Rissy Roo's Prom Queen Contest is in full swing, and this past Friday (May 20th), we chose our very first weekly winner, better known as a Prom Princess. We're happy and excited to announce that our first Prom Princess is the beautiful Alyssa Torres!

Alyssa won a $50 gift certificate to RissyRoos.com, and will also be in the running in June to become our 2016 Rissy Roo's Prom Queen to win the grand prize of a $100 gift certificate.

    Prom Princess

We chose Alyssa because we loved how she rocked the color red throughout her entire prom look, from the prom dress, to her lipstick, to the pretty bouquet. It's a bold color, and she wore it with such style. The pretty red prom dress that Alyssa chose is Mac Duggal 65435A. It's a striking two piece prom dress with a top that features a sweetheart neckline and illusion netting that clasps together in the back.

Here's what Alyssa had to say about her prom dress:

"I purchased this red two-piece prom dress in March for my senior prom on May 6th. I have worn a Rissy Roo's dress for my past 3 formals. I could not have been more happy with my dress, I loved it!! Thank you ladies for helping me find a dress I loved yet again!"

We're so glad you loved your prom dress so much, Alyssa! Congrats on becoming our first Prom Princess, and good luck come June in the final part of our Prom Queen Contest!
