  • Top Trends for Homecoming 2017

With summer on its way out and fall 2017 almost here, it's time to update that wardrobe with new looks to take you into the cooler months. Of course, our favorite fall dress-up day is Homecoming, and there are six trends that we are obsessing over for Homecoming 2017. Check them out below for some great ideas to ensure you're totally on-trend for your back to school homecoming dance.

    Trend #1: Lace Dresses

    Homecoming 2017 Trend Lace Dresses

The most in-demand Homecoming 2017 styles starts with a trend that's been a staple over a few years now, for both Homecoming and Prom. That trend is lace! A dress embellished with lace details makes for such a timeless romantic look, and can easily be dressed up or down.

The dress shown in the picture above is Alyce 2646. This cocktail dress not only features lace, but also another Homecoming 2017 top trend, velvet. This romantic two-piece party dress features a velvet halter top with a high neckline, sleek side cut outs, and an open lower back. The short A-line skirt features not only lace, but a beautifully beaded waistband, opaque underlay, and a scalloped hem.

    Trend #2: Green Dresses

    Homecoming 2017 Trend Green Dresses

Still trying to figure out what color to rock for Homecoming? Green is the color of choice for fall 2017! The reason that green is such a popular color this year is because Pantone named "Greenery" as the 2017 Pantone Color of the Year! Whether you rock a bright green color like the Color of the Year, or a darker hue, you'll be totally on-point with a green dress this fall.

The dresses shown above are: Sherri Hill 51289 and JVN by Jovani JVN42635. Both of these dresses are perfect for showing off your figure. Sherri Hill 51289 is a lively cocktail dress that's covered in a wild sequin pattern. Jovani JVN42635 is a lovely lace pattern with botanical hints of flowers and leaves throughout the dress, all placed over a nude lining.  Continue reading

The trio of sisters Southern Halo rocked the red carpet in Johnathan Kayne, and looked so gorgeous.

  • Lauren Conrad's DIY Circus Performer Halloween Costume Is A Perfect Twist For Your Homecoming Dress

If you follow former MTV reality TV star Lauren Conrad, you know how big Halloween is for her. Every year, she comes up with her very own DIY Halloween costume ideas, and they're pretty incredible... and totally classy. We especially love Lauren's Halloween ideas, because they tend to pair perfectly with re-using your prom or homecoming dress or your favorite little black dress. Last year, she put together a cute DIY Party Animal costume, and this year she has a brand new idea for you!

Lauren Conrad's 2016 Halloween costume DIY idea is... circus performers! Lauren explains that she came up with the idea a few months ago (she's clearly serious about Halloween) when she saw a sequin star dress from Valentino's Star Studded collection. It had her thinking how totally chic it would be to put a pastel and sparkly twist on a regular circus performer costume, and that she did!  Continue reading

Which, of course, also means that it's time to put together that perfect outfit for your Thanksgiving dinner party. Whether attending your own family dinner, your significant other's dinner, or a friend's, you'll want to be dressed for the occasion.

Most Thanksgiving dinners are pretty casual, but some can be more dressy, so make sure to find out the dress code ahead of time. If you'd like to go with a nice pair of jeans or pants and sweater, last week we showed you our 5 favorite sweaters for holiday parties (or gift giving!). Rocking a dress is always a go-to option, as well, though, so today we're showing our our 5 favorite dresses for a thanksgiving dinner (which are of course also perfect for any other holiday party you may have coming up). These dresses are all conservative enough for a family dinner, while still being so on-trend. Check them out below!

    Long Sleeve Lace Mini Dress

Black lace is always a staple for the holidays, and we love it in this Long Sleeve Lace Mini Dress. This lace dress features a sexy illusion back, long sleeves, and a v-neck with a keyhole. The long sleeves makes this dress so perfect for the colder fall and winter months. This dress also comes in the color Ivory if you'd like to rock the Winter White trend.

    Crochet Fit and Flare Dress

    Crochet Black Dress

This Beautiful Crochet Mini Dress is similar to the first lace mini dress, but with a crochet look instead of lace. The sexy, yet classy style features a crochet bodice, a-line waist and long illusion sleeves. This dress also comes in red if you're looking for a more bold color.

    Winter White Dress

    Shail K 3665

You can also rock long sleeves in a white dress with Shail K. 3665, a 3/4 sleeve mini that's truly a piece of art. The fun beaded design sets this dress apart giving it a stylish, lively, one of a kind look that's so easy to dress up for a more formal part or down for a more casual dinner.

    Red Lace Cocktail Dress

    Alyce 4416

Red, green, and blue are always staple color choices for the holidays if you want a brighter look. We especially love Alyce 4416 because it's a classic cocktail dress look that will never go out of style. From its v-cut neckline, open back, and rhinestones sprinkled upon the sheer lace sheath over linking, this dress is sure to be a crowd pleaser no matter what the event. You can easily add a cardigan over this dress for a Thanksgiving dinner, and drop the cardigan for some night time fun. This dress also comes in colors Black/Nude, Blue Coral/Nude, Burgundy/Nude, and Deep Plum/Nude, all perfect colors for any holiday event.

    Classic LBD

    Sherri Hill 32006

This totally versatile dress features cap sleeves, lace bodice, a v-neckline, and a stretch fitted jersey body. This is definitely a dress that you can easily wear time and time again, from Fall and Winter right into Spring and Summer.

  • A BOOtiful Halloween Wedding in Sherri Hill and Mon Cheri Bridals

Halloween is all about embracing your inner child, being whoever you want to be for one day, celebrating ancient traditions, having fun with your besties and family, and of course, lots of treats! Many people absolutely love Halloween, waiting patiently all year for the one special day. For those people, the idea of having another especially special day, their wedding, on Halloween would make their wedding that much more special. After all, weddings are all about celebrating ancient traditions, embracing your love for your significant other, celebrating that love with your besties and family, all in one special day. See a resemblance?

Well, one of our Roo Girls, Cori, loves Halloween more than any other holiday. So, when it came time to celebrate her wedding day, she made it extra special by having a Halloween wedding! Since October 31st fell on a Saturday in 2015, having a Halloween wedding couldn't have been any more perfect. It was an absolutely BOOtiful wedding, from the Sherri Hill bridesmaid dresses, to the Mon Cheri Bridal flower girl dress, to the hair and makeup, flowers, desert, and photography. The wedding took place at Rams Head Inn in Galloway, NJ, which was the perfect setting for a fall wedding. Check out all the details of the spooktacular wedding below.

The Big Day All Started With The Hair and Makeup

Esthetica Salon and SpaCori and her bridesmaids got ready for Cori's big wedding day at Esthetica Salon and Spa in Northfield, NJ. They got their hair and make-up done and were off to put on their dresses. See the special tanktops all of the bridesmaids wore? They all have the hashtag of Cori's wedding on them - #CORNNYLOVE, which isn't only a play on candy corn for Halloween, but is the combination of Cori and her husband's name, Johnny.

The Bride Wore A Traditional White Bridal Dress, So She Had Her Bridesmaids Wear Black

Sherri Hill 32084Cori chose a beautiful layered and patterned white strapless bridal dress. We especially loved the jeweled waist band around the dress - a perfect way to add a touch of sparkle! While Cori went the traditional white bridal dress route, it's also common for brides to wear non-traditional dress colors for Halloween weddings, like black, grey, or red. Having a Halloween wedding (and any wedding, for that matter) is all about choosing a dress that you feel confident and comfortable in, so choose a dress that fits you best!

Since Cori went with white for her bridal dress, she had her bridesmaids rock black bridesmaids dresses that she got at RissyRoos.com to bring in a touch of Halloween color to the bridal party. They wore Sherri Hill style 32084, a fierce and fabulous ball gown with a strapless sweetheart beaded bodice and a long flowing satin ball gown skirt. The theme for Cori's wedding was a Masquerade Ball, so the Sherri Hill black ball gown was not only important for rocking Halloween colors, but to set the black tie masquerade vibe of the wedding.

The Bridal Party Looked Like Classic Elegance

Halloween Wedding Bridal PartyChoosing black dresses and suits for the bridal party, with both the bride and flower girl in white dresses, kept the entire look so elegant and perfect for pictures. The only way you can tell that the party was a Masquerade Halloween themed wedding is if you were at the party! Perfect for still having classic pictures to share with others.

The tuxes were from Sharp Cleaners Tuxedos in Ocean City, NJ. The flower girl also wore a dress from RissyRoos.com, one by famous dress designer Mon Cheri Bridals! While the dress was white, she wore a black ribbon around her waist and carried a basket with black and purple ribbons wrapped around the handle. It was all about just the right amount of touch of Halloween at Cori's wedding.

The Bride and Groom Rocked A Touch Of Halloween, Too

Bride and Groom Halloween ShoesEven though the bride and groom were in traditional wedding attire, Cori and Johnny still rocked a touch of Halloween! Cori wore funky heels (see a close-up picture below), and Johnny rocked orange and black striped socks.

Funky bride high heelsHow cute and funky are Cori's bridal high heels?! We're in love with this totally unique idea - so fun, but still classy!

Halloween Wedding FlowersCori's and the bridemaid's flowers also had a hint of Halloween. The flowers chosen were very fall inspired, even with leaves included in the bouquet. The bouquet was wrapped in black and white striped ribbon. Beetlejuice, anyone?! The beautiful bride and bridesmaid bouquets were put together by Pocket Full of Posies Florist in Galloway, NJ.

The Wedding Party Was All Halloween

Halloween Wedding Masquerade MasksThe Halloween wedding was masquerade themed, so the guests didn't need to bring anything to have some Halloween fun - all of the masquerade masks were provided at the wedding party! It's a simple and easy to way to make sure everyone can join in on the fun at a Halloween wedding.

Halloween Wedding CakeEven the wedding cake was Halloween themed! The bride and groom cake topper were cute skeletons... even their cat, Chicken, was represented on the top of the wedding cake with a skeleton kitty! The orange and black icing cupcakes, made by Simply Sweet Cupcakes in Egg Harbor City, NJ, topped off the whole look.

Frankenstein and His Bride Lived Spookily Ever After

Frankenstein and Bride of FrankensteinJohnny and Cori had a truly spooktacular wedding! We hope they had as much fun, and made as many memories, as we had looking at their photos! The beautiful wedding pictures were taken by Erin McDevitt Photography in Ventnor City, NJ.

Johnny and Cori WeddingSo beautiful!! Congratulations to the beautiful couple!! Many years of fun Halloweens to come!
