  • Dress of the Week: Scala 47631

With Christmas less than a week away, you can guess that this week's Dress of the Week post is dedicated to being Christmas party ready! And, there is definitely no better dress to pick than Scala style 47631 for such a holiday event. Why? Because the dress comes in the two most important colors of the holiday: red and green!

That's not the only reason why we love this dress for a Christmas party, though. It's a classic (and classy) style cocktail dress that can easily be dressed up or down, depending on how dressy your holiday party is. Not only that, but this dress features an open back, cap sleeves, and an all over beaded bodice, which are all such on-trend styles right now!

It can be difficult to find the perfect dress to wear to a Christmas party, as you really want to make sure you choose an appropriate style that doesn't show off too much skin. THIS IS Especially important if it's a party where you will be around your family members!  That's another reason why Scala 47631 is so perfect when it comes to the holidays - the length of the dress and cap sleeves make it so appropriate for any event, showing off just the right amount of skin. We'd just also recommend to bring a cardigan, just in case you feel like it would be good to also cover up the dress' open back. Plus, with the colder weather, it's always safe to have a cardigan with you!

Best yet, this dress also comes in colors black, ivory, navy and sand, so if you don't want to wear the classic Christmas colors but love the dress, there's definitely plenty of colors to pick from! With all of the colors that you can choose from, also a great dress for a New Year's Eve party. We'd recommend rocking it in navy or black for NYE. White would also be a fun choice for NYE if you really want to stand out, especially with how popular the Winter White trend has been!

  • Dress Up for Thanksgiving in Shail K. KL3225

With Thanksgiving only a week away, we are in totally in Turkey mode, and we can't wait to dress up for the holiday! While Thanksgiving may not be a well known holiday for dressing to impress the way that New Year's Eve is, there's no reason that you can't put on a cute dress to celebrate.

It might not be a sexy little black dress kind of night, but there are definitely plenty of dresses that can be worn to a Thanksgiving party. Since it's technically still Fall, but getting colder and colder out by the day, we love the idea of picking a cocktail dress that shows off the colors of Fall (like tan, gold, brown, yellow, or orange), but also has long sleeves to keep you a little warmer as the cold sets in. That's why this week's Dress of the Week is Shail K. style KL3225 - we thought it made for a perfect Turkey Day dress with the nude and gold colorings and long sleeves!

Style KL3225 is a truly original Shail K. creation! This long sleeve, nude colored cocktail dress boasts a unique, hand-beaded exotic bead pattern with a beautifully accentuated waistline and hem. The high back and neck make this dress perfect for day or nighttime wear. It's definitely a dress that you can easily wear to a dinner, and then out with your friends to a party later that night. Tone the look down with black or nude heels for dinner, and spice it up with sparkly gold heels like in the picture above for a party.

  • How to Dress Up for a Family Holiday Dinner

The Holidays are here and that means it's time for lots of parties - and lots of different types of parties! The Family Holiday Dinner is one event you're bound to be attending at one time or another this Holiday season, whether it be your own family's, your boyfriend's, or even your best friend's. This can be one of the more trickier events when it comes to dressing up, though. With family members aplenty - whether it be the Aunt that's your BFF, or your boyfriend's grandparents that you've never met before - it's important to make the right impression. Even though the holidays are usually a time for glitz and glam, this may be one holiday event where it's best to tone it down a notch; there will be plenty of time to show off that cute short sequin dress on New Year's Eve!

No matter what holiday you're celebrating, the general rules should hold constant: keep the fashionable side of you showing through with a cute dress, but stick to one that's more simple and toned down. Black is usually a good color choice for a simple look, but don't be afraid to show some festivity with a red, green, or blue colored dress. It's also always good to bring a blazer or cardigan to wear over the dress to cover your shoulders, especially if you choose a strapless dress.

Our 3 favorite for a Holiday family event are great simple, yet sophisticated mini dresses:

    1. Dave & Johnny style 8281 cocktail dress is a strapless black dress with taped taffeta over lace for fabric. It's a very classic looking LBD, with unique styling to it with the distinctive textured stripes throughout the dress.

    2. Terani style H1216 cocktail dress comes in the colors red and blue - both perfect for the Holidays. It has a scooped cowl neckline in both the front and back of the dress.

    3. Clarisse style 2044 cocktail dress is a sweet mocha colored dress that's adorned with beading and rhinestones. The pretty patterns gives it such a distinctive look, while the mocha color complements the beading and keeps the dress toned down.
