Prom 2015

Promposals have been getting more and more popular each year, and this Prom 2015 season has definitely taken the prom proposals to a whole new level. No more does simply writing a note with a accompanying flowers or a teddy bear work. Now, it's all about dressing up as Prince Charming for the day or coming up with some other totally unique idea.

Well, Amesbury High School junior Nick Fortuna, from Boston, Massachusetts, certainly found a very new and unique way to turn the normal note and flower routine into a very special promposal for his girlfriend Lauren Fedorchak. Believe it or not, Nick got the police involved in delivering a promposal! Nick asked police officer Ronald Guilmette to pull over his girlfriend at a traffic stop. Lauren gave the officer her license and registration. When the police officer returned, she received a "ticket," but instead of a traffic citation, the ticket said, "Prom with Tuna?"

Nick was waiting in Officer Guilmette's police car the whole time. Once Lauren was given her ticket, he came over to Lauren's car to surprise her in purse and give her flowers. Of course, Lauren said "YES!"

There have been so many amazing promposals this year, but this one may have taken the cake in our book! It's pretty impressive to get the police involved! And, major props to the Amesbury Police Department for being such good sports and helping Nick with his promposal. What do you think of this police promposal? The Pretty Little Liars Season 5 finale was so intense that we almost couldn't take it! The girls had to trade their fabulous sense of style in for prison jumpsuits in this episode, and this may have been one of the all time creepiest PLL episodes, but that didn't stop us from keeping our eyes on the prize: the beautiful prom dresses that the PLL girls wore! Our favorite Pretty Little Liars prom dresses, of course, were hands-down Hanna's, Ashley Benson, and Emily's, Shay Mitchell. Why? Because they're made by two of our favorite designers, which means you can get the same exact looks for prom!

Hanna Marin's PLL Season 5 Finale Prom Dress

Hanna Marin looked radiant in red with Sherri Hill style 32107. This dress is a strapless mermaid gown with a sweetheart neckline, beaded lace bodice and a satin skirt with a short train. The dress fit her like a glove! We especially loved that she accessorized with black elbow-length gloves. The combo of the elegant gown with the gloves stayed true to the opera theme.

Emily Fields' PLL Season 5 Finale Prom Dress

Emily Fields took romantic to the next level with her prom dress: Mac Duggal style 78897, which is part of the Prom 2015 Mac Duggal Royalty collection. Emily (Shay) sure did look like royalty in the dress! Just like Hanna, Emily added elbow-length gloves for that extra touch of elegance.

This sophisticated dress features sheer illusion cap sleeves and a high collar that is reminiscent of the most popular runway fashions. Sparkling like none other, the sheer illusion cap sleeves are decorated with silver beading and crystals. Creating a sexy look with a plunging v-neckline that leads to a starburst embellishments along the waistline, this gorgeous evening gown is all about making a serious statement.

Normal life is like a dream for 17 year old Abby Gladin from Atlanta, Georgia, who is living with Crohn's disease, a chronic inflammatory bowl illness. For the last 10 years now, she's been in and out of hospitals and doctors appointments, getting countless surgeries and missing out on tons of school. She lives such a difficult life, so one of her dreams is just to live a normal life. And one of the most normal and fun parts of any teenager is going to prom, of course. In Abby's own words, all she wants is "a night of simple, sophisticated elegance." We certainly couldn't blame her.

So, one day while walking out of a routine doctor's appointment, she got an amazing surprise. She found her parents telling her that they'd be taking her on an extra special prom dress shopping expedition, complete with her own chauffeured car from Uber, all arranged by Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. The car took everyone to a boutique in Georgia, where she could pick any dress she wanted for free! She told 11alive.com, "I feel so special!"

Some dresses were harder than others to wear because of her colostomy, a medical device attached to her abdomen, but she searched away! She explained, "I want my dress to be something you'd see on the red carpet." After lots of looking, they found Abby's perfect dress (she said "yes" to the dress!) and she looked so gorgeous that her mother couldn't help but cry. Her mom explained, "Some days she doesn't see how really beautiful she is because of this." We sure hope this whole experience helped to show Abby just how special she is!

That wasn't the end of her special day of prom shopping, though. Miss Georgia and Miss Colorado stopped by to place a special princess crown on Abby's head!

Even though the end of the school year will bring more surgeries, Abby can look forward to a special night in a special dress with her boyfriend. 11alive.com said that they will update the story once Abby attends prom with pictures of her all dressed up, so keep a look-out!

The Internet basically blew up this week when everyone saw what actress Lily James wore on the red carpet for the premiere of movie Cinderella. With a fairy tale like Cinderella that's all about the dress and shoes that the main character wears, transforming her on the outside into the princess that she is inside, it was of course without question that we were excited to see what the actress who plays Cinderella, Lily, would wear for the premiere of her film. But, with red carpet looks rarely ever holding the theme of the movie or event, we weren't holding our breath. Much to our (happy) surprise, Lily James looked exactly like Cinderella walking the red carpet for the premiere of the Disney movie! Check her out in all her beauty below!

The beautifully adorned dress dress by Elie Saab had Lily looking like she should be floating in the air! This red carpet look truly shows that she is Cinderella and makes us so excited to see the film. Plus, she wore Christian Louboutin high heels that basically looked like glass slippers. Could the outfit be any more perfect? Oh wait.. it can be... She even accessorized with a clock purse by Charlotte Olympia! Because... when the clock strikes midnight...

Lily James' red carpet look was so perfect from every aspect! Since it's such a unique dress (and accessories), this is one that's hard to copy for prom. But, we have your back! The 87th Academy Awards wasn't all about the film stars. This year's awards ceremony was also about one of our favorite dress designers: Mac Duggal. The dress designer himself walked the red carpet in style at one of the hottest parties of the night, the Annual Warner Brothers Mansion Oscar Viewing Party. Not only did he dress some of the hottest stars of the night, but he was also there to walk the red carpet with his wife.

That's not the only reason the 87th Annual Academy Awards were all about Mac Duggal, though. Many of the celebrities at the Oscars were wearing his dresses! Getting ready for her ClevverTeVe Oscars Recap, Joslyn Davis looked gorgeous in Mac Duggal style 4037! This edgy Mac Duggal dress has sparkling sequins that glimmer from the v-neckline down to the bottom. Lightly gracing the straps and the back, sheer illusion material is speckled with more sequins. More sheer illusion paneling is revealed along the sides with light amounts of sequins for an added touch of sparkle. We love this look for an after prom, homecoming, or New Year's Eve dress!

Just last week on February 11th, the sold-out black tie amFAR New York Gala was held at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City, and so many celebrities were at the event in support of AIDS research. The gala kicked off New York Fashion Week, so there were so many leaders of the fashion community in attendance, with one of our favorite fashion-forward celebs that walked the red carpet being Paris Hilton! While Paris is known for her risque looks, she showed class and style walking the amFAR gala red carpet in an elegantly embellished dress that we're obsessing over. The black dress that Paris wore featured a high illusion neckline and illusion mid section, thigh high slit, and beautiful beading throughout. We're especially loving this look because dress designer Mac Duggal makes two looks that are exactly like Paris'... and perfect for prom!

To get the traditional dress look that Paris Hilton wore to the amFAR gala, go with Mac Duggal style 1903. It's a floor length evening gown that's all about elegance and grace combined with show-stopping style, just like Paris' dress. They hold a gala annually to help raise money for its cause, and this year's gala raised over $2 million for their AIDS research programs. Pretty amazing! This is its 17th year running, and other guests included Heidi Klum, Naomi Campbell, Chelsea Clinton, and Karlie Kloss (plus many more).

The NFL Super Bowl XLIX was a football game for the ages! From start to finish, it was a spectacular event, especially Katy Perry's Halftime Show! Lenny Kravitz, Missy Eliot, and Katy Perry were an amazing mash-up to see on-stage. The beach scene was amazing, and we all know that Katy Perry's left shark stole the show. But, there was one other thing that stole the Super Bowl Halftime Show for us Roo Girls: Katy Perry's firework dress!

She truly shinned during her performance in her floor length sparkly gown, which matched her song, "Firework," perfectly. It was a sparkly one shoulder dress with funky stars all over it! She's a 'star' that was dressed as a star, and rode around on a star! Could we expect anything less from the singer that always has something new to wow the crowd with? Plus, one shoulder dresses are a popular look for prom this year, so we loved that Katy rocked the trend so flawlessly!

Miss Universe 2014, Paulina Vega, was finally crowned last week, and one of our favorite dress designers was of course at the forefront of the pageant providing gorgeous gowns for all of the contestants: Mac Duggal! The dress designer's latest prom styles and never-before-seen pageant gowns were on display in Miami from the red carpet, to the runway, to the Miss Universe pageant. In combination with La Casa Hermosa and AMerican Model Magazine, Mac Duggal hosted a special Miami fashion show to kick off the Miss Universe Pageant!

The event was hosted at the historic Beauville Beach Resort in Miami, a perfect place to watch such gorgeous gowns walk the runway! American Model Magazine started the evening off with a photo shoot where all of the models got to show off their Mac Duggal gowns in front of a beautiful backdrop. In the photo below, American Model Magazine models are showing off Mac Duggal 4152 (left) and Mac Duggal 65024 (right).

After the photo shoot, it was time to start walking the red carpet! On the red carpet, Miss South Florida USA, Lisa Opie interviewed Mac Duggal to learn all about what's going on in the pageant world. Once the interviews were complete and the photos taken, it was finally time for the runway show to begin. The runway models showed off some of the latest Spring 2015 prom dresses, but also unveiled some brand new pageant gowns that have never been seen before. It was definitely the perfect way to get in the mood for the Miss Universe pageant!
