Prom 2016

A couple of days ago we announced our 2016 Prom Queen Contest, and now it's time to see more of our Roo Girl's prom pictures and read their prom dress testimonials. Today, the prom testimonial comes from customer Grace Otley. She purchased her dress months ago for prom, so she was all ready to go for her big day, and it finally came last Friday.

Grace sent us her pictures this week, and said:

"Finally got to wear the dress I got from your store a couple of months ago to my prom this past Friday! Was a hit! Thank you, I love the dress!"

Grace looked so gorgeous! She chose the stylish JVN by Jovani JVN33956. It's a sexy two-piece form fitting dress that features a halter crystal embellished top with a sheer panel and a jersey skirt with cascading crystals along the backside. Prom is coming to our end for many of our Roo Girls. You've seen some of our girls all dressed up for Prom 2016 in our testimonials, and now it's time to choose our 2016 RissyRoos.com Prom Queen!

Customers can submit their testimonial up until 11:59pm on June 16, 2016. One winner ("princess") will be chosen each week every Friday up until June 17, 2016. Weekly princess winners will be announced on: May 20 2016, May 27 2016, June 3 2016, June 10 2016, and June 17 2016. Five weekly princess winners will be announced in total. Each weekly princess winner will win a $50 gift certificate to RissyRoos.com.

The five princesses will be added to a Facebook photo album, so that contestants, family, and friends can vote on their favorite princess through "liking" or "loving" their favorite picture. The five weekly princess winners will have a chance to compete on Facebook to be crowned the 2016 RissyRoos.com Prom Queen from June 17, 2016 - June 27, 2016.

The gorgeous pictures from our Roo Girls in their prom dresses continue! Earlier this week, we showed you Brett Emery's elegant, yet flirty look, and today we're writing to show you Lily Hogan's prom dress. Lily's mom, Rene' Yelich-Hogan has been in contact with us ever since they purchased Lily's dress.

Rene' and Lily are from Millville, NJ, so they visited our store in Linwood, New Jersey back in February and shared such kind words with us:

"Thank you so much for a wonderful experience yesterday! We popped in just to look and 2 hours of some of the BEST customer service I have ever experienced later we found THE dress for her prom. Thank you for making my daughter feel special!"

Lily finally attended her prom in April this year, so Rene' was kind enough to follow-up with pictures of Lily in her prom dress, and said:

"Thank you for making my girl feel like a million dollars! See ya next year!"

Lily chose La Femme style 21565 as her dress, and it couldn't have fit her more perfectly. La Femme 21565 is an enchanting net mermaid gown that features cascading lace applique and a modest train. The gown also features a sheer bodice with a fitted short skirt and a keyhole back. A couple of weeks ago, we shared Christa Abbate's prom dress testimonial, and now we have another prom dress testimonial to share with you from one of our Roo Girls who recently attended her dance. Brett Emery and her mom, Kris, from Knoxville, Tennessee purchased Brett's prom dress back in March, and Brett finally got all dolled up in her prom dress for her big night. The Met Gala is the event of all events when it comes to fashion... one may basically call it the prom of the fashion industry. Each year has its own theme, and the 2016 Met Gala theme was Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology. The idea behind the theme was to explore and appreciate how technology has played a significant role in the fashion industry.

A lot of the celebrity gals who walked the 2016 Met Gala Red Carpet wore gorgeous sparkly, silver gowns, giving an ode to robots and machinery. But, one celebrity literally sparkled at the Met Gala: Claire Danes. The "tech white tie" dress code may have been a little difficult to interpret, but Claire wore the theme perfectly with an original Zac Posen gown that lit up with lights within the dress!

How gorgeous is that dress?! Not only did the actress get a perfect Cinderella look, but it had such a special, unique touch to it when the lights go down. The effect reminded us of not only technology, but The Girl On Fire, Katniss', dress from The Hunger Games. The latest comes from Roo Girl Christa Abbate, who recently sent us a picture all dressed up in her prom dress, accompanied by such a nice note that we're gushing so much. She chose a really unique La Femme prom dress that you definitely won't want to miss out on seeing. Check out what she had to say and her photo below!

Every girl wants to feel like a princess on prom night, from the gown, to the date, to the transportation to the venue, to dancing the whole night away. Of course, with the popularity of promposals over the last few years, the days of feeling like a princess start as early as that special prom proposal. Whether funny, cute, or totally romantic, prom proposals are a special moment and bring a whole new level to the meaning of being a prom princess.

One of the latest promposals that we've stumbled upon takes a cue from the romantic side and is all-over heart melting. Creating a disney themed promposal in itself is always so fitting to make a gal feel like a princess, but this teen really took the disney theme to heart.
