Well, we have another place to get your The Walking Dead fix: in the October 2013 issue of Glamoholic Magazine. Why? In this photo, Emily is wearing Sherri Hill style 21217, a cute and fun cocktail dress with a high neckline, sexy open back, sequin bodice, and gorgeous lace. We especially love the flowy ruffled skirt - perfect to twist your hips at Prom or Homecoming!

In the article, they talk about everything from The Walking Dead, to music, style, and boys. It's definitely a great read! One quote that we're loving:

"If acting is my passion, then song-writing is sort of a steady best friend."

We know her character, Beth, sings in The Walking Dead, but we never knew that it was a hobby of hers!

The Walking Dead, Tony Bowls, Sherri Hill...it doesn't end there: you can read the full article on Glamoholic's website! Plus, with Avril Lavigne as the October Cover Girl, could you really go wrong?? Have fun reading!

Labor Day Weekend is upon us, and the official first day of Fall may be only a month away, but it's still Summer and we have a lot more sun to still take in! Plus, with how popular the white trend has been, Labor Day definitely won't be the last day you can rock the color for this year! That's why we're picking out our favorite white cocktail dresses so you can make sure to have a White Hot American Summer right through the end of the season and into the Fall (and maybe even the Winter). And, of course, make sure to finish the Summer off right by watching Wet Hot American Summer!

Illusion and sheer fabric has been all over the red carpet lately, and we especially love the look when paired with black or white. • Prom Trend of the Week: Printed Dresses

This week's prom trend is one of our favorites because we love seeing different patterns and innovative looks every year. Printed dresses are so creative and are always fresh since there's so many different ways to wear the trend! A print dress will always be a showstopper; whether it's animal print or polka dots, you'll be sure to have the most memorable dress of the night!

Printed dresses can either work with your figure or go against it, depending on the pattern and your body shape and height. So, just make sure to pick a pattern that suits your body type. If you find the right printed dress, it can be super figure flattering. Below are some of our favorite new patterned dresses for Prom 2013 - they are all great looks that certainly take the boredom out of a solid color dress!

    La Femme18969

    Sherri Hill 2813

    Tony Bowls 2351337

    La Femme 18017

    1. La Femme 18969 Rose Gold Gown - A unique sequined gown with a sweetheart neckline and contrasting pattern on the skirt. The chevron pattern is très chic. One of our favorites! If you're on the taller side, this is a great dress option - the chevron pattern will really work to give you a slimming figure.

    2. Sherri Hill 2813 Nude Evening Gown - Be the center of attention in this fitted floor length strapless jeweled gown. The unique beaded pattern on this dress takes the patterned dress trend to a new level by almost giving it a 3D look! The way the patterns are laid out on this dress should work to accent your curves.

    3. Tony Bowls Tony B 2351337 - A strapless printed chiffon A-line prom dress with a sweetheart neckline and gathered empire waist accented with chunky hand-beading. This is simply a fun dress, and a great way to wear print in a more simple way. The subtle ombre make this dress so on-trend, while the print gives off an artsy look.

    4. La Femme 18017 - Go wild in this blue one shoulder animal print ombre gown with a sexy front slit. The pleated bodice has cutouts leading to the back cutout and trimmed with sequins and beading. If you love animal print, this is such a fun way to rock the look. The ombre keeps the animal print from being too overpowering, since it fades into white at the bottom.

  • Prom Dreams Ruined

What if you had spent nearly $1000 on your Prom dress, shoes, and jewelry, bought your Prom tickets, but then your date backed out and you were told by the school that you weren’t allowed into Prom without a date? Well, that’s what happened to one Wayne, Pennsylvania high school student.

Seventeen-year-old, Amanda Dougherty was shocked when school officials from Archbishop John Carroll High School told her that she was not allowed to attend her Junior Prom without a date because of a rule made by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. According to her father, Amanda had been so excited for a couple of years awaiting her Prom to finally arrive. In fact, she was so excited that she started dress shopping around Christmas time, where she spent close to $1000 for her Prom wear and tickets. She even compared dresses with her friends on a Facebook page that was ‘blocked’ so that the guys couldn’t see it.

When questioned about the predicament, the office of Catholic Education responded with “there are numerous dances and events throughout the year where dates are not required, but we view the prom as a special social event where a date is required to attend.” What do you think? Should Amanda have been allowed to attend her Junior Prom?  How would you have responded if the same thing happened to you?

  • Prom Girls, Beware!

Prom night is fast approaching. Ladies Beware!

Prom girls, be smart. Your dream dress could be a fake! The prom industry’s leading designers are still fighting the ongoing battle with fraudulent internet sites selling counterfeit prom dresses to unsuspecting teenage girls and their families. Companies are representing these dresses as authentic garments, but what the customer is receiving is a knock-off of sub-par quality, leaving them feeling scammed and distraught.  Some are not receiving any dress at all!

    Rissy Roo's

Protect yourself. Before purchasing a prom dress via the internet, check the designer’s website for a list of authorized retailers. Also, be aware that designers such as Jovani, La Femme, Mori Lee, Sherri Hill and Tony Bowls set an MSRP (Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price) that all authorized retailers must follow. Meaning, that if you are able to find the dress at a price lower than the MSRP, chances are it’s a scam. Do not buy it! Another way to ensure you are receiving the real deal is to call the company’s contact information. The most reliable companies, like RissyRoos.com, offer customer support and toll-free lines for your convenience in placing your order with a real person.
