Miley: The Movement MTV Documentary

This is the Week (and month) of Miley Cyrus! Just a few days ago, her new album, Bangerz, was made available on iTunes for free streaming, and last night was the premiere of her MTV documentary Miley: The Movement. All we have to say, is we watched it and LOVED it.

The documentary gave such great insight into this pivotal moment in her life and career, where she is trying to re-shape her sound and image. She talks about what it's like growing up as the daughter of Billy Ray Cyrus and having music in her blood, and what that means for her moving forward. It also goes into great detail depicting what went into putting together her controversial VMA performance.

We especially loved her response to all the hype that came from the performance. Here's some of our favorite parts from her comments:

"You're always going to make people talk; you might as well make them talk for like two weeks. We've been laughing about all of the news because everyone's so serious...If I really wanted to come out as a raunchy sex show, I wouldn't have been dressed up as a damn bear."

So true! Another comment of hers that we loved was:

"I feel lucky that I don't have to fit in...If you can't express yourself, you're not very free."

We can definitely agree with that! Miley is definitely being herself, and that is something to be proud of.

If you didn't get to catch the premiere last night, there will be many re-runs on MTV. They will also be showing a special 90 minute version with extra footage this coming Sunday, October 6th, so don't miss out! You can watch the trailer here:
