Prom 2015 Trends To Get Excited About!

It's officially Prom Season again! All of the new Prom dresses are here, and this year's styles are just stunning. From sparkles to lace to two piece to ball gowns, there are so many gorgeous new looks to choose from that it almost makes it impossible to pick just one. While it can be hard to narrow it down to just one dress, there are certain things you can keep in mind and look out for to help narrow down your choices. One of those important 'check list' items is what's on-trend during a given season, which is what will be focused on here. There are five trends in particular that are set to be very popular for Prom 2015. If you want to ensure you're dressed just like celebrities and red carpet fashion this prom season, start your prom dress search by choosing from one of the below five trends!

1. High Necklines

Necklines can be overlooked at times, but they are are big contributor to framing your figure when it comes to choosing just about any outfit (from a prom dress to a work outfit to your causal every day clothes). When choosing a neckline, factor in your bust size, neck length, height, and even the shape of your face.

High necklines have become popular lately because of their glamorous look and flattering attributes. For one, they make accessorizing easier since many have glitzy beading around the neck that mimics a necklace! In particular, look out for the high neckline halter tops that are gracing this year's prom dresses; they are considered a universally flattering neckline.

Mori Lee 97052 High Neckline Halter Top Dress

Mori Lee 97052 is an example of a high neckline halter top dress that would flatter just about any figure. It's a beautifully beaded high neck evening gown with a sexy open back and flowy chiffon skirt.

2. Sheer Dresses

Sheer dresses, also known as illusion dresses, were one of the hottest trends of 2014, and will continue to be at the top of the trends list for 2015. Sheer is all about showing off some skin in style and class, and this year's Spring 2015 dresses definitely achieve that.

What's particularly great about the sheer trend is that you can rock the look as much or as little as you find comfortable. There are dresses that incorporate sheer from head to toe, and then there are dresses that only have sheer in certain areas, like on the bodice.

Jovani 1255 Sheer Prom Dress

Dress designer Jovani is all about sheer dresses this year; their Spring 2015 collection is full of a variety of sheer dresses. As an example, Jovani 1255 is a sheer dress that's great for just a little bit of sheer in a traditional ball gown prom dress look. This strapless ball gown features a beaded corset with sheer panels and a tulle skirt. Or, go with Jovani 88463 for an all-over sheer look. It's a strapless floor-length gown that features embellished beading and a sheer illusion skirt and bodice.

3. Lace Dresses

Lace dresses are perfect for an elegant, sophisticated, yet so chic look for prom. After all, there's a reason for the saying, "Lovely in Lace!" Lace has been on-trend for a few years now and won't be leaving the top of the fashion lists any time soon. It's a look that's perfect for any occasion, which means you'll be rocking a dress that you can easily wear to events other than prom.

Just like illusion, there are many different ways that you can wear lace. Many lace looks even incorporate the illusion and high neck looks!

Rachel Allan 6814 Lace Dress

Rachel Allan 6814 is a dress that incorporates both the lace and high neckline trends (as well as the two-piece trend, which is discussed below). While this two piece dress will show off some skin, it does so in a totally classy way with the incorporation of the lace bodice, high neck, and classic colors of white and black (it also comes in red, another classic color!).

4. Print Dresses

Print dresses are making a huge come back for Prom 2015. Prints like a bold leopard, zebra, or floral print are all about making a lasting impression and letting your personality shine through your dress. In particular, animal print and floral print prom dresses are already proving to be extremely popular this year. Many celebrities have been seen rocking floral print lately, and this is definitely a trend that will carry over into prom.

Sherri Hill 32245

Dress designer Sherri Hill's go-to look this year is print, and the new dresses are so stunning! From floral, to leopard print, to stripes, to polka dots, Sherri Hill offers print dresses for just about everyone. Sherri Hill 32245 is a great choice for incorporating the floral print, lace, high neck, and two piece looks into one stand-out dress. It's a flirty two piece cocktail dress with a lace halter crop top and a floral print skirt with hidden side pockets. Alternately, go for animal print with Sherri Hill 32176. This is a strapless ball gown with a chunky beaded bodice and a soft leopard print satin skirt. Both print looks are perfect for standing out in style!

5. Two Piece Dresses

The last, but certainly not least, trend to watch for in Spring 2015 is two piece dresses. From beaded and sexy to floral two piece ball gown styles (like shown above), the two piece prom dress is already all the rage for Prom 2015. This look started to pick up steam last year, and will undoubtedly be this season's hottest trend. As far as celebrities go, Miley Cyrus may be the biggest proponent of the look; you can catch her rocking a two piece crop-top outfit almost every day of the week! So, dare to bare this Prom 2015 season!

Mac Duggal 82376 Two Piece Prom Dress

For a two piece prom dress that also incorporates the illusion and high neck trends, go with Cassandra Stone by Mac Duggal 82376. As one of the most popular styles from the Cassandra Stone Collection, the sexy crop-top bodice features mesh cap sleeves that give further emphasis to this unique style. The waistline on the long jersey skirt is trimmed with large stones that match the color of the top. It's a perfect dress to show off that summer glow!
