Prom 2014 Preview

Award Season is about to make its grand finale with the 2014 Oscars and we can't wait! The 86th Academy Awards is being held this coming Sunday, March 2014, and it will definitely be one to watch because the funny talk show host Ellen DeGeneres is hosting.

Many of our favorite dress designers have been all over the Award Season red carpets, but there's been one designer we've been waiting to make an appearance: Mac Duggal. Well, our wait has ended because they premiered a brand new style during an Oscar Promo! Check out model Ireland Baldwin wearing Mac Duggal during Entertainment Tonight's Oscar Promo!

Ireland is wearing a never-before-seen dress from the Mac Duggal 2014 Fall Collection. This stunning gown features an emerald green lace design witn nude illusion skirt. It's not available yet, but it will be available this summer - we'll make sure to keep you updated at RissyRoos.com once it is available! We're so obsessed with all the beautiful sheer and lace Mac Duggal gowns this year, so we're not surprised to see more of the two trends coming our way. We especially love the emerald green dress color - the hue is a perfect vibrant shade of green!

The live Oscars red carpet event premieres Sunday, March 2nd on CBS, so make sure to tune in. Ireland Baldwin will be the Oscar's Fashion Correspondent for TVGN Live and ET. We can't wait to see what dress she'll be wearing at the big awards event! And, with this being the end of the Awards Season, all of the celebrities will definitely be rocking their best looks on the Oscars Red Carpet, so get ready for the best of the best in formal fashion! Our first Prom Preview Party, held on Friday, January 31st was one super success story! Held from 6pm to 9pm in our store, there were models, giveaways, free gifts, music and all of the latest styles of dresses from the top designers to shop for!

Fun Before The Party!

The day started early for our Roo Girls, as they were pampered and dolled up for the big night by the stylists of local Salon Oh! located in Ventnor, New Jersey. The talented team applied trendy make-up and gorgeous prom curls and up-dos to our beautiful models before they put on their prom dresses!

After all the prepping, the pink carpet was rolled out for the Prom Preview 2014 Party, the prom playlist was pumped up, and the store was full of girls ready to check out the latest trends for prom 2014! With so many designers and styles to choose from, finding the perfect dress was fun and exciting! Every dress purchase included a free pair of shoes up to a $50 value, and as the girls walked throughout the store, they were given light-up sunglasses and rings, Rissy Roo's exclusive pink LED lip gloss, candy, and raffle tickets to win awesome prizes! The drawings included a bag, shoes, a $50 gift certificate and last but not least...A FREE DRESS! Our winner, Gabrielle Sear had the ultimate prom princess moment when her name was announced. She dazzled on the pink carpet as she posed with a big smile in her chosen gown, Sparkle Prom style 71301!

New York Fashion Week 2013 is here, and who's one of our favorite designers showing of their new collection? Sherri Hill, of course! The dress designer showed off her new Spring 2014 collection for the upcoming Prom Season, and we are so in love with all of the new styles! Before the show started, everyone was walking the red carpet, of course. One of the most anticipated guests of the night were the Robertson's from reality TV show Duck Dynasty. The Robertson's sat in the front row so that they could see Sadie walk the runway for her new "Sadie Robertson Live Original" collection with Sherri Hill!

Another celebrity that walked the Sherri Hill runway was Olivia Culpo, Miss USA and Miss Universe 2012. In the above photo, she's getting all dolled up behind the scenes before the show.

And, here's Olivia after the show with her boyfriend, Nick Jonas. They look amazing together! Olivia is wearing a new dress from the upcoming Spring 2014 line, but this lace and corset style is one that Sherri Hill already has a few other dresses in!
