A couple of days ago, we showed you the totally on-trend pantsuits that some of the celebs wore on the 2016 iHeartRadio Music Awards red carpet. As we mentioned in that post, another major music awards ceremony was held on the same day as the iHeartRadio Music Awards: the Academy of Country Music Awards! Of course, the celebs on the ACM Awards red carpet were just as glammed up. While we loved all of the look, there always seems to be one celeb that stands out on the ACM Awards red carpet. Yup, you guessed it: Carrie Underwood.

Finding that perfect prom dress to stand out at prom is a mission that can take a gal months. Two-piece? Lace? Open back? High-low? So many styles and trends to choose from. Well, we have one new trend to add to your list that is as unique as it comes! Many celebrities have been rocking the trend lately, and Selena Gomez is the latest. The trend is capes. Capes, cape dresses, and capes as dresses is a look that has become more and more popular in the fashion world, and the look can now even be found in prom dresses.

Selena recently wore the hot new trend while out on the town in Paris. The celebrity wore an elegant black Vionnet dress with a chiffon cape over top of it. It's a totally dramatic, yet so classy look that gives a whole new name to wearing a ball gown.

The 88th Academy Awards was certainly a night to remember. Chris Rock kicked off the night with a monologue about the #OscarsSoWhite controversy, and Leonardo DiCaprio finally won his Oscar! The actor took home the Lead Actor Oscar for his role in the movie "The Revenant," and had a moving acceptance speech about the dangers of climate change.

Of course, Leo also had his ever ongoing special encounter with Kate Winselt on the red carpet, which never disappoints. They both looked stunning, but they weren't the only ones we were impressed with on the Oscars 2016 red carpet. Our favorite two looks of the night came from Sofia Vergara and Dorith Mous, who both wore elegant gowns that had us dreaming of prom. Sofia wore a beautiful navy blue gown on the Oscars red carpet that's not only so perfect for a black tie event like the Oscars, but is so prom reminiscent. The deep sweetheart neckline and ruched waist accentuated the actress' curves perfectly. BFFs Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift yet again left everyone stunned, as they were each other's dates for the 2016 Grammys. Going to the 58th Annual Grammy Awards last night as BFFs weren't the only thing that caught everyone's attention, though. The two couldn't have looked any more glam in their Grammys red carpet dresses! Selena rocked a blue sequined cut-out dress, while Taylor wore a color blocked two piece gown. Both celeb gals couldn't have been more on-trend with their looks.

This past week's Saturday Night Live show was full of girl power, with two of the biggest women celebrities hosting and performing on the show. While the East Coast was suffering from a major snow storm, nothing stopped MMA athlete and former bantamweight champ Ronda Rousey from showing her acting chops, and actress and musician Selena Gomez from performing some totally sizzling numbers (melting that snow and ice right away!). When opening up the show, Ronda explained that it was her first time on live TV without being hit in the face (can we say badass??), and Selena showed just how great of a singer she is with stripped-down medleys of "Good for You" and "Same Old Love."

We loved every minute of watching them on the SNL stage... and we especially loved all of the sexy dresses the two wore throughout the show! While Ronda was a staple part of the entire SNL show that night, constantly changing outfits and dresses, our favorite looks from both celebs came when it was time for Selena to take the stage for her performances.
