  • Dress of the Week: Jovani Style 7757

Because we have been seeing celebrity after celebrity rocking this dress over the past few weeks, we had to give a special spotlight to Jovani 7757, a short sheer cocktail dress.

Recently, Paris Hilton and Joanna Krupa have been seen rocking the sexy number a few different times. Paris was seen wearing it in Las Vegas while out with River Viipperiin, and was also seen matching Courtney Orynich, Operation Smile Pediatrician, at Courtney's bachelorette party! Joanna posed for a modeling shot in the dress, and also wore it on a recent episode of 'The Real Housewives of Miami!'

The thigh-high dress features a boat neckline and long sleeves, with sparkling jewels scattered all over the translucent fabric. There is definitely no better way of looking like a celebrity than in this captivating dress!

With the holidays on their way (Thanksgiving's only 3 days away...who's getting excited for Black Friday??), this dress couldn't be any more perfect for some New Year's fun. The lavish, sexy look of the dress, along with the stunning jewels, will have you sparkling on a New Year's Eve night out on the town in Jovani style 7757.

  • Breaking Dawn Part 2 Premiere - Los Angeles

The Los Angeles premiere of "Breaking Dawn - Part 2" was this past Monday, November 12th, and the stars of the Twilight series looked as stunning as ever on the red carpet. With all of the recent hype behind Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson concerning their alleged break-up, we were happy to see them reunited at the premiere. And, we always love seeing Rob Pattinson and Tyler Lautner all dressed up!

Swooning and celebrity gossip aide, we were most excited about all of the beautiful dresses, of course! We loved the way Kristen Stewart, Ashley Greene, and Ashley Tisdale looked - their dresses were absolutely stunning. If you want to take a cue from these Twilight stars and rock their looks at your next formal event, check out our dress picks to get their styles below.

All eyes were on Kristen at the premiere, where she wore a strapless nude lace gown. We loved the corset bodice on the dress, which framed the dress against her body. You can get a similar look with one of these nude & lace dresses from from Jovani & Mac Duggal:

  • Dressing Up for Thanksgiving Dinner

Halloween is officially over, and we're now in our first week of November - that means the next holiday coming up is Thanksgiving!

Dressing up for Thanksgiving all depends on what type of Thanksgiving dinner the host has put together; some have very casual dinners (where you can wear jeans...or even sweatpants if you're just staying home!), but others have a more formal dinner (and by "more formal," we just mean a little more dressed up than normal, versus an actual formal event, like prom). If you're going to a more dressy dinner, it's good to look nice, but no need to go over the top. Read on for some of our tips on finding the right outfit for a more dressy Thanksgiving dinner.

Since it's Thanksgiving, a more comfortable option is to go with a stretchy or loose fitting dress (like a tunic dress). You'll be glad you chose this type of dress while eating all the food that comes along with the holiday (especially since they hide the tummy)! Two of our favorite more loose fitting dresses are from Shail K. - styles KK3143 and KK3149.

Style KK3143 is a Grecian style flowy dress that comes in colors red and black - both colors are perfect for a Thanksgiving dinner! Style KK3149 is a tunic dress that can be worn with leggings for a more casual look or with stockings to dress it up. It comes in colors black and ivory, however we recommend going with black for Thanksgiving (you'll see why below!).

Another important thing to keep in mind with this holiday surrounded by eating is the potential to drop the food on your clothes. Whether you tend to be a very clumsy person or not, it's inevitable that something will be spilled during the night. Because of this, we recommend picking dark colors or prints that will hide any gravy, stuffing, or cranberry sauce that may find its way onto you. Going with a white or light colored dress may leave you showing off your dinner, rather than your fashionable outfit; with Thanksgiving being in Fall, the darker colors are part of the festive vibe of the holiday, anyway. Scroll down to see some more darker colored dresses that are perfect for Thanksgiving.

    Jovani 171150 comes in black
Mac Duggal 76171R comes in colors red & black
Sherri Hill 1522 comes in colors black, red, ivory, navy, nude, & plum
Evenings by Allure A365 comes in chocolate & is on sale for only $39.99!

  • Jovani Stole the Show at the CMAs!

Last Thursday was country music's biggest night of the year - the 2012 Country Music Association Awards! Some of the biggest stars looked stunning as ever on the red carpet this year at the event. What were they wearing? Jovani, of course! And, not just any Jovani dress - the stars were wearing the newest styles from Jovani's upcoming 2013 collection.

We loved how Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, and Katie Armiger looked at the CMAs; they rocked the event like none other in their Jovani gowns. Carrie did a wonderful job hosting the entire event with Brad Paisley. Our favorite part of the show was when the two of them broke out a Gagnam style routine - it was hilarious! Carrie looked stunning the whole time in her beaded Jovani short dress. Miranda won Song of the Year and Female Vocalist of the Year in Jovani's newest evening design. She even got to accept her Song of the Year award with her husband, Blake Shelton! Katie took old Hollywood glamour to a new level with a green ombre jersey dress. We thought it matched perfectly with her new fiery locks.

Check out some pictures from the event below:

Carrie Underwood & Brad Paisley rock out to the YouTube sensation Gangnam Style.
Miranda Lambert & Husband Blake Shelton, judge/mentor on the hit show The Voice, looked amazing together as they accepted Song of the Year for their song “Over You.”
Miranda Lambert accepts the award for Female Vocalist of the Year in a blue 50’s inspired gown, from Jovani’s newest collection of evening dresses
Katie Armiger looked glamorous in a Jovani jersey gown from their Party Dress Collection.

We LOVED all of the new Jovani looks and cannot wait to get them at Rissy Roo's! We'll make sure to update everyone once they are available! Or, if you're too anxious to wait, the Jovani 2012 styles are just as gorgeous!

  • Floral Prints – Don’t You Forget About Me

Floral Print Dress ClassicDecorating our clothing with flowers has been a tradition for hundreds of year.  Originating in Asia, large floral prints on women’s kimonos represented natural beauty and femininity.  Europeans, fascinated by this culture, adapted floral prints for their own society during the renaissance.  It became a fashion statement for upper class women to wear dresses made from luxurious fabrics covered in beautiful flower patterns.

During the 1940s, floral dresses became the most popular trend.  Looking back to that time, it’s impossible not to picture women without their wavy curls, pearl earrings, and flower printed frocks.   How Retro says that “As fashion seasons come and go, floral dresses rise and fall in popularity yet have remained a constant in women's clothes.”  The delicate qualities of the flower makes wearing a floral print seem truly feminine.

“This season is all about the power of flower print,” announced Jovani in their recent newsletter.  Runway trends are all about pastel and neon colors, with “garden-inspired” prints being used in new and unique ways.  Whether you’re looking for a casual dress, or something more formal, you’ll be able to find a floral dress for the occasion.  Pick an accent color from one of the flowers to match your accessories and makeup, and your outfit will be a hit.  It looks like this classic style is here to stay!
