Ninety's fashion has made a huge comeback this year, seeing celebs like Kendall and Kylie Jenner and Gigi Hadid rocking those ever famous 90s style chokers and goth inspired looks. We certainly can't complain, especially since the 1990s seem to be making a comeback in a huge way well beyond fashion. Just yesterday, sequels to 1990s popular movies The Blair Witch Project and Trainspotting were announced, and one of our all-time favorite actresses who we've been waiting patiently to take over the spotlight once again has done just that: Winona Ryder! The popular 1990s actress who was famous for Tim Burton movies like Edward Scissorhands and Beetlejuice, as well as Girl, Interrupted, is finally back in the limelight in a big way in Netflix's newest sci-fi series Stranger Things.

With the comeback of both Winona and 90s fashion, we wanted to give a fashion flashback to some of the formal outfits that made Winona that 1990s fashion icon she's become known for. After all, as Vice noted in their article "The Timeless Appeal of Winona Ryder, Hollywood's Eternal Outsider," Winona was "the cult face of the 90s." See four of our favorite outfits below, and of course how you can take a cue from them for a perfect fall Homecoming look.

Winona wore that classic goth look in a totally elegant way, wearing a black v-neck dress, a worn-in leather jacket, black hair, and dark red lips. Our favorite dress designers can always be found on some of the most hotly anticipated red carpets, with the most recent sighting being Faviana on the 2016 Tony Awards red carpet. The 70th Annual Tony Awards was held on June 12, and Joelle Garguilo and Donna Karger were reporting straight from the red carpet to show off all of the hottest celebrity dresses. Of course, if they are reporting on celeb looks, they have to be dressed to impress, as well. So, the two reporters wowed the crowds themselves in Faviana dresses. Read on to see what they wore!

New York Live's reporter and producer, Joelle Garguilo, looked sultry in Faviana 7755, one of our hottest sellers. The plunging v-neck on this faille satin dress ads the perfect amount of allure to an otherwise simplistic and classic design, making it so perfect for just about any occasion. Whether homecoming, guest of a wedding, a charity event, or the red carpet, this style is classic and classy. The front is draped, which adds texture to the full length skirt, a high slit reveals a tantalizing touch of skin, and the back is adorned with thin straps and ruching in a manner that provides a slimming effect, flattering the figure in all the right spots.

Summer may not be officially here yet (the official first day of Summer isn't until June 20th), but with prom season over, our eyes are on homecoming season. And, luckily, our favorite dress designers are helping our obsession along because some of them are already releasing their brand new fall 2016 dresses!

Congratulations to Sarah F., winner of our 2015 Homecoming Pinterest Contest!

To help make sure all of our Roo Girls are ready for Homecoming Season, we held a 2015 Fall into Homecoming Pinterest Contest. Since mid September, Rissy Roo's Pinterest fans showed off their favorite Rissy Roo's Homecoming 2015 dresses by creating a "Fave RissyRoos.com Homecoming Styles" Pinterest board. They pinned their favorite dresses from RissyRoos.com onto their board to show us what they're obsessing over for their back to school dance. Entrants had to pin at least 20 items from RissyRoos.com, tag the pins with #RissyRoosHomecoming and build up their follower base.

Girls were not only judged on following pinning and board creation directions, but also on building up the pins and followers of their board and showing us just how excited they are for Homecoming through their pins. The girls put their pinning skills to work, pinning beautiful dresses, shoes, and accessories all from our website. While we loved all of the boards, we could only pick one winner. Sarah's Pinterest board stood out from the rest because we could really tell how dedicated she was to showing off her pinning skills. She pinned 31 Rissy Roo's images in total, and gained 217 followers on her board! Sarah chose Scala 48501 as her winning dress, which she'll get to wear during her Homecoming on October 24, 2015. Congrats again, Sarah! We hope you love your dress!

The 2015 Teen Choice Awards took the red... ahem ... blue carpet by storm with the latest and greatest in 2015 fashion, and we're loving all of the celebrity looks! The lady celebs rocked everything from jumpsuits to two piece cocktail dresses to sexy lace numbers. They certainly know how to rock the trends, and we're not complaining because so many of the Teen Choice Awards outfit choices had homecoming outfit written all over them! Or, maybe we're just a little excited for the Homecoming 2015 season to finally be here... Vanessa Ray at the Teen Choice Awards

Pretty Little Liars actress Vanessa Ray looked so glam in a so on-trend crop top and flirty skater skirt (she's on the left side in the video above). The textured skirt with a more simple fabric top make for a perfect pair in this look.

For a similarly styled look, featuring a sweetheart neckline top with thin shoulder straps and a skater skirt, go with La Femme style 21244. Homecoming Season is coming up! You can tailor your look for Homecoming in many ways, like the Gothic Lolita for example. It’s a stylized take on the turn of the century vintage vogue with exaggerated puffy materials. Big bold floral patterns and lace edges can be very 80s Madonna inspired. Especially if you do hard accessories like a leather cuff or short booties. You can put big lace and tulle skirts together with contrasting accessories, like cowboy boots for example. There is also the Art deco inspired look. A classic style with geometric designs and heavy embellishment. Girls are getting very creative at making these styles all their own. There is a dress out there for you. Whether you want to reveal or conceal, any way you are most comfortable, today there really are no rules.

One impression to consider is the polished mode of the art deco movement. The tendency for this look to reemerge time and again is expected. Designers thrive when they pull their creativity from art trends in history. Art Deco is  both new and old, modern and understated.

Art Deco, Art Nouveau, and the Egyptian Revival Styles

If you are looking to do something bold, classic and completely chic, think about the art deco style. Vintage is making a comeback. Artists and Designers from the Art Nouveau are serving as design inspiration for contemporary looks for formal dresses. Graphic prints and embellished details in the bodice and sleeve, these are ideas that come from the cusp between the bohemian and art deco eras. If you ever peruse an art history book, you may recognize styles of dress from the subjects featured in works by Degas, Klimt and Sargent.

Turn on your inner fashionista and think back to the quality dresses Carrie Bradshaw wore on Sex and the City: bold prints, soft neutrals and always some sparkle. Seek out embroidered bodice, cap sleeve, flowing skirts and a mix of jewel tones and soft pastels. These elements come into play with today's fashions for the first reception of the year. There is a fun mix of pieces that refer back to the deco period of the 1920s, and dress forms that harken back to the 1950s. There is a variety of styles available, but the classic forms of the Art Deco era keep coming back in sleek and stylized ways.
