Of course, all Summer Sweet 16 party ideas are fabulous, but we figured a little creativity can go a long way, to make your party all the more extraordinary!

    Hawaiian Luau or Tropical Theme

  • Taylor Swift's Beautiful 24th Birthday Party!

The beautiful Taylor Swift, who is known for being so adorable, celebrated her 24th birthday in true swift style. She shared photos of her party on Twitter, and it looked both beautiful AND adorable! Seventeen Magazine had the scoop:

"She threw a super fancy, balloon-festooned garden party in Melbourne with all of her pest pals, including, much to everyone's delight, Lorde. Because why wouldn't the two coolest girls in showbiz who sing catch pop jams and have enviable hair be BFFs?"

Taylor and Lorde were first seen together in NYC at Shake Shack last month, where Seventeen wrote that they presumably talked about boys over chocolate milkshakes (yum!). And now, they're such besties that Lorde went all the way down under to Australia to celebrate Tay's bday. It definitely looked like they had a great time together! Check out some pics from Taylor's party below:

  • Perfect 4th of July Nail Ideas!

Independence Day is almost here, and we've been scouring the Internet for ways to show our pride for the day of fireworks, BBQ, and fun! While we've of course been picking out our favorite red, white, and blue dresses at www.rissyroos.com, we've also been looking for cute ways to accessorize. And, of course, one always go-to way to show some 4th of July love is on your nails! It's a simple, yet totally chic, way to wear red, white, and blue, without wearing it from head to toe. Below are our favorite patriotic nail looks that we've found on Pinterest...not only just in time for July 4th, but for #ManicureMonday, too!

    4th of july nail decals

It doesn't get much more patriotic than literally turning your nails into the American Flag! If you're freaking out over the idea of trying to paint those perfect stars and stripes onto your nails, don't fret; just use nail art decals to get the look! They're simple to use and give you a professional look. You can get the decals used in the above photo for only $5 on Esty.com!

    firework fingertips

Sparkly nails have been super on-trend lately, and is there really a better time to wear sparkles than on July 4th? Definitely not! That's why we love this "firework fingertips" nail art idea from PrettyPrudent.com. It's a perfect way to incorporate the sparkly nail trend into a 4th of July look!

    nautical nail art

Looking for a nail idea to not only rock on July 4th, but all Summer long? We love the above red, white, and blue nail look for just that. It has a nautical theme to it, but the combination of colors also makes it perfect for Independence Day! We love the small heart over the stripes, but feel free to rock this look without the heart, too.

However you decide to show your patriotism on the 4th of July, just make sure to have fun! If you've found any nail ideas that you love, feel free to write a comment below and share the link.

  • Jovani Holiday Collection Preview

Prom is coming to an end, and new styles from our favorite designers are already making their way to RissyRoos.com for Homecoming and Holidays ! Jovani is one designer that is already showing off their sexy styles for the coming holiday season!

Jovani's upcoming holiday line is inspired by the fashion of the 1920's. With how much we've been loving the style in the new Great Gatsby movie, we were so excited to hear about the new Jovani line! From short cocktail dresses that feature intricate beading and lace work, to breathtaking evening gowns, Jovani has definitely captured the glitz and glam of the 1920's. Check out their preview video below:

Some of Jovani's newest numbers that are already available at Rissy Roo's are short cocktail dresses that are not only great looks for the Holiday's but for Homecoming and summer formal events, as well! Our favorite new looks are:

    Jovani 155118

Jovani style 155118 is a short cocktail dress with lace detailing over nude that's so reminiscent of the 1920's, yet so modern!  It has the perfect mix of flirty and romantic with its floral Continue reading

  • Graduation Party Ideas

Graduation time is here and you want to throw the greatest grad bash that will have people talking about it for the next year! There's a lot of planning and preparation that goes into these shindigs, and it's definitely time to start! Your grad party won't be the only grad party either...so yours must be extra unique from the rest. So, to help you out, below is a list of some of our favorite fun ideas for an epic graduation party.

Instead of having the usual BBQ music, why not add activities to make it more exciting? Build teams named after colleges, create a score board with different rounds of games, and have parents be in charge of refereeing. There's endless possibilities to what kinds of games you can incorporate. A slip and slide race...a three legged race...a potato sack race...maybe even trivia games! Your party will be the talk of the town!

    slip and slidethree legged race

What's a grad bash without snacks?! Besides ice cream and BBQ food...get creative and serve some grad themed food. We pinned our favorite graduation themed grubs on our Roo Inspiration & Fun board. The cap pops and edible diplomas look so cute...people won't want to eat them (but they look so yummy that they won't be able to resist!). Below are some of our favorites from Pinterest.

Graduation is a time to remember, so make sure the memories are captured at the party, too! Hang a banner at your party that people can sign and leave messages. It can be as simple as hanging a large piece of paper on the wall, or use your creativity to add your own personal touch. We love Martha Stewart's idea of creating a scroll where people can leave messages on sticky notes. This makes it easy to roll up and save for the grad student as a keepsake when the party's all over!

Another great way to add to this idea is to have a polaroid camera available to use at the party. This way, guests are encouraged to take photos, and can even take them home as their own keepsakes, or add them to the message board with a little tape.

You can also have a simple, memorable gift for each of the grad students to bring home. Think of something that's either useful for your graduate friends, or that may give them a positive outlook about what the future holds. We love the idea of a mini notebook as a gift, like the Moleskin notebooks. It's something that can be carried with you everywhere - from class to the dorm - so that you can always keep track of what you need to do, and maybe even any ideas that you may have for class projects!

Another great gift is a cute book like Le Petite Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery or Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach. Both are short stories that are seen as children's books, but have great lessons about learning about life and finding one's self. Perfect little gifts to get your friends excited about venturing on to their next journey in life!

Whatever you decide to do at your graduation party, just make sure to have fun and make it a memorable experience! It may be the last time that you and your high school (or college) friends are all together as a group.

  • Dress of the Week: Sherri Hill 21187

There were so many beautiful Sherri Hill dresses worn during this year's Miss USA pageant, that we couldn't possibly fit them all into one (or two!) posts. Sherri Hill style 21187 was one dress that we loved, but didn't mention in our Miss USA 2013 posts earlier this week. So, we decided to give it a special shout-out and make it our Dress of the Week!

    Miss Nebraska Sherri Hill 21187

Miss Nebraska wore this sexy red lace dress during the pageant, and she looked absolutely breathtaking! It hugged her curves so well, and the nude coloring made her tan skin glow even more. We also loved the statement necklace she wore with the dress - it complimented the lace in the dress so well and gave her such an elegant look!

Sherri Hill 21187 red lace dress

Sherri Hill style 21187 is a glamorous short cocktail dress complete with classy and chic lace design and scalloped hem. It's such a pretty minidress for graduation, homecoming, a semi-formal party, or just a fun night out! It comes in a variety of colors, such as black, blue, ivory, navy, and blush. We love how the variety of colors this dress comes in lets you dress it up with a more formal color like black, or even give it a more summery look by choosing the ivory or light blue color. It definitely makes it an easy dress to wear to so many different social occasions...or maybe even on stage at a pageant like Miss Nebraska!
