Even though we have seen many types of "promposals" this season, we must say the story of Matt Peterson asking Miley Cyrus to be his prom date takes the cake! Matt, a mega fan of Miley, got the chance of a lifetime to meet the star when she picked him out of a group of screaming fans in a parking lot and asked him to join her on a local radio show. For Matt, it was love at first sight, and since the meet and greet Matt says Miley has changed his life. In order to repay her, Matt was determined to take the singer to his prom and show her a night she would never forget. To do so, he created a video, which may be the cutest and most daring "promposal" yet!

Even though the caring star would have loved to be Peterson's prom date, due to scheduling conflicts with her Bangerz concert tour, she was unable to accept the invitation. However, Miley did offer quite the consolation prize and invited Matt to her Arizona concert! Super excited for the show, Matt created his own unique prom "tuxedo" covered in 162 iron-on pictures of Miley's tongue, which she loves to stick out when posing for the paparazzi. Impressed with Matt's efforts, Miley gave him the real prom experience by creating prom style photos and inviting him on stage! She ended the evening by serenading Matt with her song "Adore You." We are so impressed with Miley's energy and passion for her beloved fan, and so is Matt! If you ask him..."She was the nicest person. I thought I was in love with her before—she's the most amazing person." Way to go, Matt, for taking the chance on a super star..and  Miley for possibly being the best prom date ever!

It's that time of year again...it's March 8th and time to celebrate women for International Women's Day! And, since we're all about making girls feel their best and look beautiful in their favorite dress at Rissy Roo's, of course we're very excited to celebrate this special day.

 If you haven't heard about International Women's Day yet, annual on March 8th, thousands of events are held throughout the world to inspire women and celebrate achievements. A global web of rich and diverse local activity connects women from all around the world ranging from political rallies, business conferences, government activities and networking events through to local women's craft markets, theatric performances, fashion parades and more. Many companies even join in on celebrating the event. Google has even been creating a Google Doodle over the past few years! And, in the United States, the whole month of March is celebrated as 'Women's History Month'.

There's even a whole gallery here of artists who have contributed beautiful artwork for the event. So make a difference, think globally and act locally! Whether it's March 8th or not, it's important to strive to make everyday International Women's Day. Do your bit to ensure that the future for girls is bright, equal, safe and rewarding.

As if I wasn't excited enough to see the first Pitch Perfect, they've decided to come out with Pitch Perfect 2 and I am so excited I can barley contain myself!

So far leading ladies, Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson are the only two girls from the pre-qual to be "officially" signed onto the second movie. And to be honest, those were the two girls I was most looking forward to! Rebel Wilson is HILARIOUS and I love Anna's rebel-chic style.

The entire movie is one huge laugh and it's one of those movies that you talk about with your girlfriends for weeks after you've seen it. My friends and I couldn't stop laughing throughout the movie and found ourselves reciting lines throughout the weeks to follow.

Anna told Us Weekly in an interview, "I'm very excited! I mean I've signed on with no script, so you know, if it becomes about parasailing instead of singing, don't blame me!"

Signing with no script? Wow that's daring. But we have faith! Especially since Elizabeth Banks, who played an announcer at the A Cappella performances (you also may know her as Effie Trinket from the Hunger Games) will be directing the sequel.

Well Elizabeth, we can't wait to see what you got!...

...Or what Rebel and Anna have in store for us!

2014 is officially here, and if you haven't made (or started) your 2014 New Year's Resolutions yet, it's definitely time! Picking out a New Year's Resolution(s) is a great way to set goals for the coming year and make sure you stick to them. So, we definitely recommend every Roo Girl to make a resolution or two and work to stay on-track to keep it. Whether it's making sure you dress your best no matter where you're heading, like the resolution we talked about a few days ago, eating healthier, working out more, or just reading more books, pick something to strive for that will make you feel like a better person once you complete the goal.

If you're just struggling to pick our a resolution, we're here to help you! One of our favorite fashion blogs The Glitter Guide (can you guess why it's one of our favorites??) recently posted their 2014 New Years Resolutions, and we're loving it! They came up with a list of resolutions that are so great not only for a Glitter Girl, but for a Roo Girl too, so we wanted to make sure to share their list. Check it out below!

If you like the list, print out the picture and leave it somewhere that you'll see it every day, like taping it to the mirror in your room or bathroom. This way, you'll be reminded of your goals every single day! You can also find text of their resolutions below, in case you'd like to share the resolutions via e-mail or IMing.

The beautiful Taylor Swift, who is known for being so adorable, celebrated her 24th birthday in true swift style. She shared photos of her party on Twitter, and it looked both beautiful AND adorable! Seventeen Magazine had the scoop:

"She threw a super fancy, balloon-festooned garden party in Melbourne with all of her pest pals, including, much to everyone's delight, Lorde. Because why wouldn't the two coolest girls in showbiz who sing catch pop jams and have enviable hair be BFFs?"

Taylor and Lorde were first seen together in NYC at Shake Shack last month, where Seventeen wrote that they presumably talked about boys over chocolate milkshakes (yum!). And now, they're such besties that Lorde went all the way down under to Australia to celebrate Tay's bday. It definitely looked like they had a great time together! To all of our New Jersey Roo friends out there, the December 2013 LifeStyle Report of the New Jersey LifeStyle Magazine is out, and we're so proud to announce that we've been featured in their Holiday Gift Guide! Their The LifeStyle Report Holiday Gift Guide lists their last-minute treasures for everyone on your Holiday gift list, so it's quite an honor that we were included amongst their favorite finds. Two of our brand new products were listed: our Sweetie's Anne Lace Ballet Flats and our Leopard Purse! The flats are fabulous lace ballet style shoes with a knot detail and clear stone detail. They are the perfect shoe to sweeten up any social occasion dress if you don't want to go with heels. The Leopard Purse is an envelope clutch that is a perfect way to glam up any outfit. It's currently not available on our website, but can be purchased at our store in Linwood, NJ.

  That's not all that's in the December LifeStyle Report, though! The magazine also has a whole article on what to wear at Holiday parties: gold, of course! Of their selection, they wrote, "These picks for the holiday season will have you effortlessly standing out from the crowd and looking, and feeling, like a celebrity. This year, make your holiday statement piece a head-turning gold dress, suitable for any occasion.

When it comes to choosing a long dress, they featured one of the dresses that we have at Rissy Roo's: Tony Bowls style Tony B 2351317! It's a sequin dress with a halter neckline and pleated waistline that's accented with a contrasting hand-beaded medallion. It's one of our sale dresses - it was originally $458, but is now only $299. The LifeStyle Report mentions that it's a perfect dress to wear if you have a Holiday gala event or black-tie New Year's Eve party, and we couldn't agree more. Much like the Victory Tour that takes Katniss, played by Jennifer Lawrence, and Peeta, Josh Hutcherson, through the 12 districts after their win in the deadly Hunger Games, the stars of the sequel have spent the past week traveling the world, with premiere stops in London, Berlin, Madrid, Rome and Paris. Now, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire stars are finally finishing up their premiere back in the U.S. The movie just premiered in Los Angeles earlier this week, and last night they were in New York City.

Since we're all about dresses at Rissy Roo's, we've of course have been paying full attention to Jennifer's looks on the red carpet. We loved her see-through gown at the L.A. premiere, but we're especially loving the cute little black dress she wore last night in NYC!

Halloween may be over, but there's so many costumes that we're still obsessing over! The costume that former Miss USA Rachel Smith wore on Good Morning America's Halloween special is definitely one that we cannot forget. Why? Because she wore a Faviana dress!

 The Miss USA 2007 beauty queen wore Faviana style S7150 to dress as Giuliana Rancic, the E! News co-anchor, for the GMA Halloween Special. Giuliana is known for her on-point fashion sense, and the chiffon gown that Rachel wore definitely had her sparkling just like the journalist! Of course, with Rachel's own past as a beauty queen and as a co-host on the show OnTheRedCarpet, could we have really expected her to wear anything else on Halloween??
